Dr. Mekaj graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Prishtina, Faculty of Dentistry and received his PhD from the University of Tirana, Faculty of Medicine. He was selected to complete a multidisciplinary hospital residency at the University Clinical Center in Kosovo, where he specialized in oral surgery in 2008. This experience provided him with advanced knowledge in all aspects of dentistry, including oral surgery, anesthesia, and the treatment of medically compromised patients.

Dr. Mekaj is currently a lecturer at UMS “Rezonanca” in Pristina. In 2002 Dr. Fisnik Mekaj opened the dental clinic in Pristina under the umbrella of UMS “Rezonanca”. In 2006 received his first implantology certificate from DENTAURUM, Ispringen, Germany. In addition, since 2009 Since then, Dr. Mekaj has been board certified by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in various trainings in oral surgery and implantology. In 2021 received his PhD in Oral Surgery at the University of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Tirana, Albania. Dr. Mekay also holds an International Trainer Certificate in CTCB Imaging and CEREC Training from SIRONA Dental Company GmbH, Bensheim, Germany.
